REMAINS FOUND IN WHAT APPEARS TO BE A SHALLOW GRAVE IN THE BACKYARD IN CONOVER

CONOVER – Remains were found in a shallow grave behind a home in Conover last Friday (Sept. 16).  According to Chief Loftin with the Conover Police Department, the remains have been sent to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital to determine if they are human, or otherwise.
The investigation was initiated after the Conover Police Department received a tip on Sept. 16 alleging that a body was possibly buried the backyard of a home in Conover.  Conover Police Department along with Catawba County Sheriff’s Office and the NC State Bureau of Investigation collected evidence and sent it for an evaluation.
It is anticipated results may be in this Thursday (Sept. 22).
