LENOIR – A collision on Adako Rd near Brown Mountain Beach Rd reportedly resulted in a fatality when a 2009-Honda Civic allegedly crossed the center line and crashed into a 2002 Toyota Tacoma.
According to the report from NC State Highway Patrol, the fifty-three-year-old driver of the Tacoma, Harold Lee Mann, Jr., suffered fatal injuries. The passenger, seventy-two-year Alton Philyaw was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center in Tennessee.
The sixteen-year-old driver of the Honda, and the eighteen-year-old passenger were wearing their seatbelts and were treated for minor injuries and transported to a local hospital, according to the press release from NC State Highway Patrol
The investigation is ongoing.
