A tractor-trailer filled with chickens overturned, spreading the chickens all over the highway. Sgt. J.D. Allen with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol the crash happened when a Case Farms truck hauling live chickens flipped over because its passenger side wheels dropped off the road. An off-duty deputy with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office came across the accident on his way to work. The roads were closed for 3 hours. Fortunately no one was injured.
