Alexander County Fire Marshall Mark Earle confirmed that a fire in a mobile Home resulted in a fatality. On Monday the 26th, Units from Wittenburg, Taylorsville, Bethlehem, Ellendale and Hiddenite responded after a call near River Shoals Ridge Drive in the Wittenburg Community. Three people in the mobile home escaped but one unfortunately passed away. The Alexander County Fire Marshall’s Office, Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina Fire Marshall’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation are looking into the cause of the blaze, and suspect the cause of the fire was a wood stove.
