34-year-old Maynor Javier Yanes Basquez of Long View and 27-year-old Chad Michael Sampson of Hickory were taken into custody after being charged with attempted murder in the first degree. The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release last week stating that on October 10th, two women reported someone had fired multiple rounds into their residence while they slept. Bullet casings were found at the scene that lead detectives to the culprits. Francis was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $63,000 bond. District Court dates are scheduled Tuesday (January 3) and for March 27.
