25-year-old Adrian Rashaun Lyons of Mooresville is now facing a felony first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of an infant on September 18 of last year. According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies were called to Lyons’ residence and found the infant unresponsive. The child was rushed to a local medical facility where medical staff described the injuries as “un-accidental brain trauma”. Further investigation revealed that Lyons had admitted to running into a door and striking the infant’s head approximately two weeks prior. He said the baby was unresponsive, crying a lot, and twitching. Steinseifer, the baby’s mother, said she knew about the incident, but was scared to seek medical attention. The tragic incident has left the community in shock, and has resulted in Lyons facing a felony charge. The Sheriff’s Office said that they will continue to investigate the incident in order to bring justice to the infant and their family.
