Conover man sentenced to 7-10 years in prison

The D.A.’s office reports that a Conover man has been sentenced to 7 to 10 years in prison. 45-year-old john David Swink pled guilty to trafficking heroin and fleeing to elude arrest. Swink was also ordered to pay a fine of $100,000. These charges come from an incident from June of 2020 where Swink tried to flee from sheriff’s deputies but was found hiding in possession of heroin.
