Three local high school students in Blue Ridge Energy’s Leadership Track program recently earned an all-expense-paid week in Washington, D.C. The students joined 1,500 other students from across the country for the 58th annual Electric Cooperative Youth Tour.
Representing Blue Ridge Energy were Haley Dorsey from Hibriten High School, Aidan Stroud from Watauga High School and Zander Russell from Alleghany High School.
Dorsey also placed first in a speech competition and will receive a $2,000 college scholarship and future opportunities to travel to Youth Leadership Council events.
