Downtown Lenoir Plans New Clock Tower

The City of Lenoir has announced plans for a new clock tower at the corner of Main Street and West Avenue. The downtown clock was removed last fall due to structural issues. With help from the Western North Carolina Sculpture Center in Happy Valley, plans are underway to build a new 25-foot, three-column sculpture to house the historic clock.
Info about the “Time Well Spent” project and how the public can help will be available at this weekend’s Blackberry Festival, as well as a series of workshops in August and September. The project is funded by a private donation to the Sculpture Center and from the public sale of decorative tiles.
