The search for escaped inmate Matthew Neil Brown continued Tuesday, with a focus on the Statesville area, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. Brown escaped Monday from the Caldwell Correctional Center, where he was serving a 19-month sentence for possession of stolen goods and drug charges.
Brown is a 37-year-old, 5-foot-7, 160-pound white male with black hair, green eyes and a beard. Anyone with information on Brown’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Caldwell Correctional Center at 828-726-2509.
