CommScope has announced a major expansion at its Catawba County facilities. The Hickory-based company has more than 1,600 Catawba County employees and plans to invest $60.3 million over the next four years, including the creation of 250 new jobs with an average annual salary of more than $57,000. The jobs will range from manufacturing and engineering roles to management and support functions.
A public hearing for local incentives will be scheduled in the coming months by the Catawba County Board of Commissioners. In addition to Catawba County, other key partners in the project include the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, and Catawba County Economic Development Corporation.
