The City of Lenoir will repair the Countryside Drive bridge each night this week from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Tuesday, Aug. 1. The repairs should be finished by Friday, Aug. 4. The U.S. 321 South on-ramp at Hibriten Drive and the southbound lane from the on-ramp to the Countryside Drive bridge will be closed during the repairs. Drivers can detour north via Norwood Street and McLean Drive or south via Norwood Street and Southwest Boulevard to access US 321 South.
Also – the North Carolina Department of Transportation has closed Dry Ponds Road at Johnny Wilson’s Farm in Sawmills to repair a culvert. The road will be closed for one to two weeks. Please follow the May Road detour while the road is closed.
