App State-Hickory Welcomes Students

Appalachian State University’s new Hickory campus opened its doors for the first day of the Fall Semester Monday morning. To celebrate the milestone, the university hosted a ribbon-cutting event at the newly remodeled 225,000-square-foot facility that previously served as Corning’s Optical Communications building. In addition to welcoming the new students, the event included remarks by App State chancellor Dr. Sheri Everts, Hickory Mayor Hank Guess and App State Hickory Campus student Ashlynn Caudill from Lincolnton.
