Two Injured in School Bus Accident

Two people were injured Wednesday morning after a school bus traveling north on Malcolm Boulevard in Burke County was attempting to make a left turn onto U.S. 70. According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, a Valdese Elementary School bus failed to yield the right of way and struck a pickup truck traveling south.
There were two children on the bus at the time of the collision and neither were injured. The two occupants of the truck were transported by EMS to UNC Health Blue Ridge with minor injuries. The driver of the bus was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
