- The 41st Annual Morganton Festival is today and Saturday in downtown Morganton with free music and entertainment, plus rides, games, food and vendors for all ages. The festival is an animal-free event and will go on rain or shine.

Held rain or shine, this annual family-friendly free event attracts sculptors and buyers from all over the United States and will include live music and food vendors.
- The City of Hickory’s Sails Original Music Series returns to Downtown Hickory Friday night bringing free live original music under The Sails on the Square. Zoe and Cloyd will perform at 7 p.m. Food and beverages will be available nearby from local vendors in the Hickory Downtown Social District.
