The Caldwell County Department of Social Services Board recently named Kim Arnett as the new DSS Director. Arnett brings nearly 20 years of social work experience to her new role. She began her social work career in Burke County Child Protective Services (CPS). In 2011, she joined Caldwell DSS as a Social Worker III in Child Protective Services.
In 2014, she became CPS Supervisor and was named CPS Program Administrator in 2017. Arnett has an associate degree from Western Piedmont Community College, a bachelor’s degree in social work and a Master of Public Administration, both from Appalachian State University.
