National Night Out Activities Tuesday

National Night Out is Tuesday, Oct. 3 and there will be a variety of activities across the Catawba Valley designed to draw community support for law enforcement. Here’s a roundup of free local events:

  • In Alexander County there will be food, inflatables and live entertainment by DJ Five-O from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Alexander County Courthouse Park
  • Conover Police Department will host an event featuring live music by The Band of Oz and other activities for all ages from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at City Park.
  • Lenoir Police Department’s event will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in downtown Lenoir around the square. There will be games and activities for all ages, as well as a Police Officer Costume Contest at 7 p.m. for children 10 and under. The best dressed boy and girl will win a scooter and helmet, plus lunch at their school with Lenoir Police Chief Brent Phelps. Lenoir Police Department will also host Coffee with a Cop from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the McDonald’s in Lenoir. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a free cup of coffee and apple pie with LPD officers.
