Recent posts on Facebook Marketplace claimed to sell PlayStation consoles for as little as $80 in the Hickory area. When interested parties arranged to pick up the consoles, they were then threatened and robbed by the suspects.
Hickory Police are investigating these cases to locate the suspects. HPD would like to remind everyone to be cautious when purchasing items online. We invite anyone arranging to pick up for Facebook Marketplace, or similar sites, to use the Hickory Police Department’s Safe Exchange Zone located in the parking lot at 347 2nd Avenue SW. You can also choose to meet at other police departments as well.
