A Hickory Woman was sentenced to 7 to 10 years after pleading guilty in Catawba County Superior Court to multiple felony theft related charges.
Conya Denise Montgomery, 46, of Hickory pleaded guilty to 9 charges ranging from common law robbery, credit card theft, and obtaining property by false pretense.
Because of prior felony convictions in 2021, 2006, and 1999, Montgomery was considered a habitual felon. Under North Carolina State law, upon conviction or plea of guilty the felon must be sentenced at a felony class level that is four classes higher than the felony for which the person was convicted.
