(HICKORY) – Hickory Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, January 31, where
one male juvenile suffered serious injuries.
Officers responded to the area of South Center Street and 1st Avenue SE of reports of shots fired around
7:23 p.m. While investigating, the Long View Police Department reported they were also investigating a
shooting. Investigators determined they were related and the incident had originally occurred in the
reported area in Hickory where shots were fired into a vehicle. The victim then drove to Hilltop
Apartments in Long View.
The juvenile was flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. No other injuries were reported.
No charges have been filed as of Thursday, February 1 and this investigation is ongoing. Anyone with
