BLOWING ROCK — The portion of Main Street in Blowing Rock from Chetola Lake Drive to U.S. 321 will be closed starting on Feb. 12.
The closing is a part of the ongoing sewer line replacement project in town. The eighteen-inch sewer line is replacing the 12-inch sewer line in this area.
The road will be closed Mondays through Thursday evenings until the project’s tentative completion date in mid-April and open Friday morning through Sunday evenings.
The town encourages travelers to be mindful of the two crosswalks by Blowing Rock School on Sunset. Student drop-off will occur at the main school entrance on Morris Street.
Main Street’s water and sewer lines are also being replaced, with hopes for this project to be completed before the busy season begins around April.
“We appreciate your continued caution and patience during this vital improvement to our town,” according to the Town of Blowing Rock’s Facebook page.
