A property exchange between the City of Morganton and Western Piedmont Community College was approved by the Morganton City Council at last week’s monthly council meeting.
The trade would see the city’s 28.67 acres located near the Morganton wastewater treatment plant on Vine Arden Road exchanged for approximately 6 acres of community college land off Patrick Murphy Road.
The exchange would facilitate long term plans for both the parties, with the city planning to use the location for a new fire station, and the community college for a emergency services training facility.
