Hickory Police Department raised $15,210 for Special Olympics at this year’s Polar Plunge! 62 participants plunged into the cold water. We couldn’t have done it without the help of our partners and the community.
Special shoutout to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, Hickory Fire Department, Hickory Elks Lodge, New Sound DJs, and Hickory Foundation YMCA for participating and assisting us with this event.
Doug Knowles’ carpentry class at Hickory High School built us a stand for our Special Olympics torch! It saw its first showing at the Polar Plunge this year and was lit at the start of the event. Thank you for your thoughtful gift!
