Morganton Department of Public Safety is asking the public for assistance and locating 36-year-old Vincent Ervin. He’s the suspect in connection with the burglary and hostage standoff on Asheville Street on Tuesday. After Morganton police negotiators were able to get a woman held hostage out of the home, Ervin was able to escape the house and has yet to be apprehended. Police are asking that anyone with information about Ervin’s whereabouts to contact their local law enforcement agency.
