The North Carolina Department of Commerce released its February employment figures this past week. The state seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was at 3.5%, unchanged from January’s revised rate. The national rate increased 0.2 of a percentage point to 3.9%.
For the Catawba Valley, Caldwell County’s unemployment rate was at 3.6%, up from 3.2% last month. Catawba County’s unemployment rate was at 3.4% up from 3.1 in January Burke County’s unemployment rate in February was 3.3%, up from 2.9% in January. Alexander County was at 3.5% up from 3.4%
