A Shelby woman was sentenced this week to 20 to 25 years for killing a hickory man Brianna Salymar Martines, 25 of Shelby was sentenced after pleading guilty the second degree murder of 72-year-old Robert Bruce Godfrey in 2021. It is reported that Godfrey was found in his Hickory apartment by his son on December 4th (2021). Martins and Abraham Adon Jr. were arrested in Georgia on December 8th (2021) when they were found in possession of Godfrey’s car. Adon is still waiting trial on a variety of charges, but will not be charged in Godfrey’s death.
