Republican 2nd Primary Early Voting in Caldwell County

Early Voting for the Second Primary will be held April 25 through May 11 at the Caldwell County Board of Elections, located in the lower level of the Caldwell County Resource Center, 120 Hospital Avenue, Lenoir.

Voting will take place Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Saturday, May 11, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. On Election Day, Tuesday, May 14, all precincts will be open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m

Under state law, a Second Primary may be requested by the second-place finisher if no candidate receives more than 30% of the votes cast in that contest. In the Republican contest for lieutenant governor, Hal Weatherman earned 19.59% of the votes. Second place finisher Jim O’Neill had 15.94% of the votes. These candidates face off in the Second Primary.

In the race for state auditor, Republican candidate Jack Clark earned 23.4% of the vote, while second place finisher Dave Boliek had 22.1%. These cadidates are also on the ballot in the Second Primary.

To vote in this primary, invididuals must be either registered Republican or registered unaffiliated and voted a Republican ballot or did not vote in the first primary.
