On April 28, 2024, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1670 Austin Avenue, Morganton in reference to a report that someone had discharged a firearm into a residence. Once on the scene deputies discovered that one of the occupants of the residence was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported from the scene by EMS. Burke County Sheriff’s Office deputies secured the scene and investigators were called to the scene for further investigation. No other information is available at this time.
