Hudson man arrested for sexual exploitation of a minor

CALDWELL COUNTY — Stephen Oliver, 58, Hudson, was arrested on May 29 by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office on 4 counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Oliver was taken into custody around 2 p.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office, and was placed under $300,000 secured bond.
The arrest was made as a result of a joint investigation between the CCSO and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force Evidence of child pornography was found at Oliver’s residence.
Third degree sexual exploitation of a minor refers to possession of child pornography, while second degree refers to sharing these materials, and first degree refers to the manufacture of them.
More charges may arise as the investigation is still ongoing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
