On Monday, 06/10/2024 investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the Gold King in Hickory, NC. A search of this business has commenced and is ongoing as of this release. Investigators have seized stolen property believed to be valued in the tens of thousands of dollars.
The owner of the Gold King, Marty Christopher McDaniel, has been arrested and charged with two counts of Conspiracy and one count of Obtaining Property by False Pretense. McDaniel received a $500,000.00 secured bond and has a first appearance in Catawba County District Court on 06/11/2024.
