The Newton Police Department has charged Bricson Clifton Lineberger, 28 of Newton, in the Monday shooting death of Kelvin Jerome England, 51 of Hickory. Lineberger is accused of shooting England while he was sitting in his vehicle at a stop sign at the intersection of South Brady Avenue and East a Street in Newton on Monday at approximately 3:15 p.m. Lineberger remains in the Catawba County Detention Center without bond. No motive has been given in this case, and the investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Newton Police Department.
