Due to the recent rain and rain forecast this week, the burn ban in Alexander County has been lifted, effective immediately.
The Alexander County Fire Marshal’s Office appreciates the cooperation of local residents while the burn ban was in effect.
“Not only is the Fire Marshal’s Office proactive in keeping lives and property safe, so are our citizens,” said Fire Marshal Mark Earle.
Earle said it is legal for citizens to burn vegetation such as leaves, grass clippings, tree limbs, branches, etc. The burning of anything else is illegal in North Carolina, such as household trash, cardboard, paper, processed wood, tires, and most fireworks.
If you have questions about open burning, fireworks, fire inspections, fire investigations, or the North Carolina Fire Code, please contact the Alexander County Fire Marshal’s Office at 828-632-9336.
