Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office & Lenoir Police Department Announce Major Drug Arrest

On Friday the city of Lenoir Police Department and the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office released a statement regarding a joint investigation, along with the North Carolina Bureau of Investigation, that led to the arrest of a major distributor of methamphetamine.

On July 16th authorities attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Zachary Stephenson. Stephenson was a suspect in their investigation into the sale and distribution of methamphetamine. After attempting to flee, crashing the vehicle, and attempting to flee on foot, Stephenson and two additional passengers in the vehicle, identified as Devon Johnson and Victoria Hennessee, were taken into  custody without further incident. A search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating 411.2 G of methamphetamine. According to the North Carolina Drug Guidelines the narcotic seized had a street value of $61,650.

Zachary Stevenson was charged with four felony counts in connection with the trafficking of methamphetamine, as well as six additional misdemeanor charges. He was given a secured bond of $750,000. Devon Johnson was charged with two counts of felony probation violation and one count of misdemeanor resisting a public officer. His bond was set at $4,500. Victoria Hennessy was charged with one count of misdemeanor resisting a public officer. She was released under written promise to appear.
