Burke County Sheriff’s Office arrest a man already awaiting trial on multiple charges

The most recent arrest of Dustin Timothy McCormick , 37 of Oak Forest Drive in Morganton, happened after Burke County Sheriff’s Office received a report regarding an incident involving breaking and entering as well as animal cruelty. On July 16th an investigator made contact with the victim, and was made aware that the victim had video footage of the incident. The investigator reviewed the footage and immediately identified McCormick as the person in the video. The investigator also found a Facebook post made by McCormick that references the victim and shows pictures of the victim’s residence. McCormick turn himself into authorities after warrants for his arrest had been issued. He’s been charged with one count of felony breaking and entering, one count of cruelty to animals, one count of misdemeanor breaking and entering, and one count of misdemeanor injury to personal property. He was given a $20,000 secured bond.

McCormick is also awaiting trial in Burke County on charges that include, one count of misdemeanor assault on a female, two counts of misdemeanor protective order violation, one count of misdemeanor cyberstalking, and one count of resisting public officer.
