VALDESE – AMOREM received a $1k grant from Burke Women’s Fund for grief support services in the Burke County service area.
With the support of Burke Women’s Fund, AMOREM will continue to provide quality care to children and teens in the Burke County service area who experience loss and grief. The utilization of this grant also works to fulfill Burke Women’s Fund’s mission to invest in needs and promise of women and their families in Burke County.
“AMOREM is committed to serving its patients, their families, and anyone in the community who has experienced the loss of a loved one by providing grief support resources in the form of counseling, support groups, education and literature, annual memorial services, youth cam, and more,” says Director of Development, Ashley Edwards. “We are honored to have the support of the Burke Women’s Fund to elevate the impact of AMOREM’s grief support services in the Burke service area.”
AMOREM will purchase program supplies including curriculum, art supplies and activities for support groups, grief education and youth camps. Throughout the year, AMOREM’s Grief Support Services team holds various support groups and camps for youth as well as individual counseling as needed. A few of these events include AMOREM’s Compassionate Connections: Good Mourning Grief Camp for children and AMOREM’s Compassionate Connections: Lions Heart Support Group.
“AMOREM is fortunate to have supportive community-based partnerships with individuals and other organizations who affirm our commitment to assist children and teens living with grief,” says Director of Grief Support Services, Kimberly Setzer. “The recent financial support of the Burke Women’s Fund will assist AMOREM in helping local youth find healing from grief as the result of the death of their loved ones and/or close friends. We extend our deepest appreciation to the Burke Women’s Fund for your collaboration and financial support through this grant.”
