Lenoir Woman Sentenced in West Virginia Counterfeiting Case

A Lenoir woman has been sentenced on  September 13th after pleading guilty in November of last year to her involvement in the conspiracy to make and pass counterfeit US currency in southern West Virginia. Crystal Wilkes was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison followed by 3 years of parole and ordered to pay $800 in restitution. Her arrest came in October of 2022 when she, Xavier Sanders and Jamarcus Harris traveled to West Virginia from North Carolina where they used counterfeit $100 bills at Summerville and Fayetteville businesses.

Harris, also of Lenoir, was sentenced in February to 2 years and 9 months in prison followed by 3 years parole, and order to pay restitution.
