EMS Lieutenant Brandon Johnson was recently promoted to the rank of Captain and will serve as the D Shift Supervisor.
“I am excited at the opportunity to continue my career with Caldwell County EMS as I continue to learn and expand with a progressive system with very skilled medics,” said Johnson.
Johnson began his career in public safety in 1998 as a volunteer firefighter with the Ellendale Fire Department and rescue member with the Alexander Rescue Squad. He also worked as a 911 telecommunicator for Alexander County from 1998 until 2003. During that time, he obtained his NC EMT-Basic, NC Emergency Medical Dispatcher, NC EMT-Intermediate, and Haz-Mat Operations certifications.
In 2003, Johnson completed Basic Law Enforcement Training at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute and became a patrol officer with the Statesville Police Department. He went to serve as a patrol deputy with Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and to obtain the rank of K-9 Officer and Sergeant.
In 2017, Johnson joined Caldwell County EMS and earned his NC EMT-Paramedic and National Registry Paramedic. He is currently finishing his NC Technical Rescuer certification with specialties in water rescue and vehicle rescue.
Johnson continues to serve the Wittenburg Fire Department, where he holds the rank of Captain.
