North Carolina voters turned out in record numbers for the first day of the in-person early voting this past Thursday, October the 17th, with a first day record of 353,166 ballots cast statewide. According to the preliminary NC State Board of Elections data, this tops the previous record by 4,607 votes set back in 2020.
Data released by the North Carolina State Board of Elections show that 1,008,123 ballots have been cast as of Saturday the 19th in the 2024 general election. This includes in-person early voting and absentee ballots. This represents about 13% of the state’s 7.8 million registered voters.
