A Lincoln County man has been arrested and charged in the shooting deaths of three people in Catawba County. Maiden Police responded to reports of multiple shots on PJ McCree Road off US321 at just after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening. There officers discovered three adults deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers also discovered a juvenile at the residence who was not injured.
Within less than one hour of the discovery Maiden Police Department along with North Carolina Highway Patrol and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office located and took into custody 27 year old Issac Nathaniel Christenbury, of Iron Station in Lincoln County.
Christenbury was charged with three counts of first-degree murder. The victims were identified as 61-year-old Charles Kevin Cox, 61-year-old Cyndi Marie Cox and their daughter, 28-year-old Jenna Lynn Cox.
It is reported that Christenbury and Jenna Cox had been involved in a relationship and may be the basis for a motive in the killings.
Christenbury had a first appearance in Catawba County District Court on Wednesday the 23rd and remains in the custody of the Catawba County Detention Facility under no bond.
