The Concert For The Carolinas held at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Saturday raised over 24.5 millions dollars for North Carolina’s Hurricane relief efforts.
After a 90 minute weather delay the 82 thousand people in attendance enjoyed a nearly 6 hour concert that was organized and featured Granite Falls native Eric Church, and Asheville native Luke Combs. North Carolinians The Avett Brothers, and former state resident James Taylor were also in the bill, as well as Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban and many others.
The proceeds from the event are being split equally between organizations that Church and Combs have selected.
It was announced that Eric Church’s Chief Cares organization plans to build 100 houses for North Carolina residents whose homes were destroyed in the hurricane.
Combs has designated Manna Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank and Samaritan’s Purse to receive his part of the money raised.
