With the election over, the North Carolina Department of Transportation is reminding residents that the deadline to take down political signs is next week.

In a news release, the NCDOT said all political signs must be taken down by Nov. 15. According to North Carolina state law, all signs must be removed 10 days after the election.

The NCDOT said it has the authority to remove any signs that violate the statute, create safety hazards for travelers or interfere with maintenance operations.
