Despite challenges from Hurricane Helene, the Town of Valdese is pushing forward on infrastructure upgrades, including public safety facilities, water line inventories, and restoration projects.

  • Public Safety: Options include renovating 215 Main St. E or a combined police/fire facility.
  • Water Lines: Valdese is inventorying lead lines in compliance with EPA standards.
  • Hoyle Creek: The $2.2 million restoration project is awaiting final contract.
  • Sidewalks: Funded project awaits NCDOT agreement, expected in January.
  • Street Repairs: Delayed due to DOT focus on hurricane recovery.
