Hope for Caldwell, a non-profit committed to reducing substance use in Caldwell County, invites high school students to pitch an idea to reach and educate fellow teens about the dangers of fentanyl and fake pills in the Fentanyl Awareness Challenge. Ideas can include innovative ways to reach youth, such as social media posts, vlogs, podcasts, video journals, etc.
The winner(s) will receive a prize valued at $750. The second-place prize is valued at $500 and third place at $250. All submissions will be featured on HOPE for Caldwell’s social media platforms and additional opportunities for recognition may be developed.
Participants may choose to work with an advisor to help guide and support their project. Advisors can provide valuable mentorship and expertise but will not be eligible for the prize winnings. Additionally, if participants work as part of a group or organization, any reward granted will be given to the group or organization as a single entity, and it will be the responsibility of the group to allocate the award to its members as appropriate.
To participate, students must
- Be in 9th-12th grade at the time of submission and reside within North Carolina. Youth under 18 must submit a signed parent/legal guardian consent form.
- Have registered to participate in the challenge
- Have compiled with all requirements
