On November 21st, 2024 @1150pm deputies with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office stopped a Silver Cadillac for a routine equipment violation near the intersection of Smoky Creek Rd/Union Grove Rd in Lenoir. As soon as the Cadillac stopped, the driver got out and fled on foot but was quickly taken into custody by deputies.K9 Angie was deployed to the path the driver ran and located a clear plastic bag that contained over 30 grams of what appeared to be methamphetamine.
The driver, William Danton Buff Jr. age 47, of Connelly Springs NC was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine and placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond. “I am thankful for the watchful eyes of my deputies and their commitment to getting drugs off the streets of Caldwell County.” Sheriff Kevin Bean
