On December 4, 2024, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office conducted a community-oriented policing operation in the areas of 18 South, Bethel Road and Drexel Road after numerous complaints in the area regarding suspicious activities, including but not limited to narcotics possession and/or sales. During the operation, investigators were able to identify and apprehend multiple subjects in possession of controlled substances.
Arrested were:
Keith Allen Johnson DOB: Age: 47 of Lenoir. Charges: (F) Possession of Schedule II (M) Possess Drug Paraphernalia (F) Possess Controlled Substance in Prison/Jail Premises
Lisa Nicole Hall Age: 33 of Newton. Charges: (F) Possess. of Schedule II (M) Possession Drug Paraphernalia (M) Probation Violation
Jeremiah Andrew Turpin, Age: 45 of Valdese. Charges: (M) Possession of Schedule II
Over the last several months, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office was able to seize approximately 615.7 grams of fentanyl in Burke County in enforcement actions such as this one and other similar operations, with multiple investigations pending. It should be noted that the estimated lethal dose of Fentanyl is about 2 milligrams (mg) +/-, depending on tolerance and purity levels of the substance.
