Pohl named Chief Nursing Officer for UNC Health Blue Ridge

Ann Pohl has been named Chief Nursing Officer for UNC Health Blue Ridge, with her tenure beginning in March 2025.

Pohl holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Quinnipiac University, a Master of Science in Nursing from Drexel University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bowling Green University.

Her extensive experience includes overseeing nursing and clinical operations, as well as fostering a culture of patient safety and collaboration through innovative governance structures, said President and CEO Gary Paxson, who announced her appointment.

Pohl brings more than 30 years of clinical healthcare experience and more than 25 years of nursing leadership to this role.

Since 2011, she has served as CNO of Lima Memorial Health System, a $400 million net revenue organization with 1,700 employees, serving a 10-county area in northwest Ohio. Lima is a 328-bed single hospital system with 200 providers on the medical staff.

Originally from Maryland, Ann began her healthcare career as a respiratory therapist at Lima Memorial Health System before transitioning into nursing.
