Two students hit crossing road in Morganton

Two students from the North Carolina School of Science & Math in Morganton were struck crossing West Fleming Drive at around 5:30PM on Wednesday (01/29).

The incident happened when a vehicle, driven by 42 year old Trisha Crutchfield of Valdese, failed to stop a red light, then failed to yield to the students in the designated crosswalk.

Both students were taken to UNC Health Blue Ridge with unreported injuries. One student was transported to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

Crutchfield was charged with failing to stop for a read light  and failing to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk.
