Caldwell County will hold a Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Event on Saturday, March 8, from 8 a.m. until noon at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. Residents should enter from Mount Herman Road and follow the signs to the drop off location behind CCC&TI.
This free one-day event gives Caldwell County residents the opportunity to dispose of household hazardous waste, pesticides, and electronics. They can also bring documents to be shredded.
Certified companies, who will ensure proper handling and disposal of the waste collected, will be on site accepting items such as: household cleaners, paint products, automotive products, pesticides, fertilizers, kerosene, batteries, pool chemicals, mercury thermometers, and fluorescent tubes.
In addition to household hazardous waste, the Register of Deeds will also offer free shredding, and residents can bring electronics for disposal.
For more information about the event, which is co-sponsored by NCDA&CS, Ecoflow, Stat Incorporated, Caldwell County Register of Deeds, and North Carolina Cooperative Extension, visit https://caldwellcountync.info/HHW.
