(HICKORY) – The Hickory Police Department has made an arrest in the fatal hit-and-run that occurred on Hwy 70 SE on Wednesday, February 19th.
Around 8 a.m., officers responded to reports of a man lying beside the roadway in the 300 block of Hwy 70 SE and located the victim, Quinton Javar Davis, 40, of Catawba, deceased. While on scene, investigators determined Davis had been struck by a vehicle that left the scene.
During the investigation, it was determined the vehicle that struck Davis was a 2011 Ford F150 being operated by Russell Cornell Bell, 58, of Hickory. Bell was charged with Felony Hit and Run causing Death.
Bell is being held under a $50,000.00 secured bond in the Catawba County Justice Center.
