A man has been arrested for the fatal hit and run of a Catawba County bicyclist back in February.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol arrested Allen Dale Bivens, 44 of Claremont, Sunday evening for the February 14th fatal hit and run of 58 year old Donald Steven Ricker of Newton.
Ricker was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck on US 70 near 4th Street in Hickory.
Bivens was charged with Felony Hit and Run and Failure to Report an Accident. He was taken to the Catawba County Detention Center and given a $7000 bond.
This incident was one of two fatal hit & runs that occurred on US 70 in Catawba County between February 14th and February 19th.
